Air Force Pilot Requirements India

Age Limit

Candidates must be between 18 and 23 years of age as of January 1st of the year of examination. However, for candidates who have served in the NCC Air Wing Senior Division/Air Squadron for two years, the upper age limit is extended by two years.

Educational Qualifications

Candidates must have a Senior Secondary Certificate (10+2) or equivalent examination from a recognized board or university. For Flying Branch, candidates must have Physics and Mathematics as their main subjects in 10+2. For Technical Branch, candidates must have Physics and Mathematics as their main subjects in 10+2 and should have studied English at least up to the 10th standard.

Qualifying Examinations

Candidates can choose from a variety of qualifying examinations according to their educational qualifications. These include the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE), the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), the National Defence Academy Examination (NDA), and the Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS).

Candidates who qualify for the Indian Air Force to become pilots will undergo training at the Air Force Academy in Hyderabad.
