A Dedicated Lawyer

Born on April 1, 1950, in Trenton, New Jersey, Samuel Alito is an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. Alito has dedicated his life to the law, graduating from Yale College and Yale Law School before embarking on a distinguished career in both private practice and public service.

Supreme Court Justice

In 2006, President George W. Bush nominated Alito to the Supreme Court. His confirmation was highly controversial, with many Democrats opposing his appointment due to his conservative views. However, Alito was ultimately confirmed and has served on the court ever since.

Personal Life

Alito is married to Martha-Ann Bomgardner, a former law librarian, and they have two children, Philip and Laura. Alito is a devout Catholic and is one of six Catholic justices currently serving on the Supreme Court.
